- Department for Communities: Information on social security benefits in Northern Ireland.
- Department for Transport, DfT: The official website for the Department of Transport. The DfT’s aim is a transport system, which balances the needs of the economy, the environment and society.
- Department for Work and Pensions, DWP: Provides a range of benefits and services for people who are ill or disabled and their carers, including the Disability Living Allowance and Personal Independence payment.
- Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency, DVLA: Information about driving licences, learning to drive, vehicle registration and car tax, for Northern Ireland see nidirect
- GOV.UK: Information on a number of national and local government services including motoring, health, tax and benefits.
- NHS Carers Direct: Offers information, advice and support, including transport issues, to anyone looking after a relative or friend.
- NHS Choices: Your Health, Your Way: The NHS guide to living with a disability or long-term condition; including practical advice on support and entitlements.
- Veterans UK: Provide pensions, welfare and support services to members of the Armed Forces and veterans, including the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement.
- Able Magazine: Disability magazine including forum, reviews and information on accessible holidays, products and test drives
- Brake: A charity providing road safety advice for children, motorcyclists and other drivers.
- Disability Rights UK, formerly RADAR: Disability rights campaigning organisation, produce a range of useful publications including ‘Get Motoring’ and ‘Get Mobile’.
- Disabled Motoring UK, formerly Mobilise: A member organisation that promotes the welfare and personal mobility of disabled people, drivers and non-drivers.
- Disabled Living Foundation: National charity providing advice about mobility products for disabled people, their carers and families.
- Driving Mobility, formerly Forum of Mobility Centres: Charitable network of centres providing advice and assessments to help people achieve independent mobility as drivers, passengers and wheelchair users.
- Money Advice Service, what disability and sickness benefits can I claim?: If you’ve recently become sick or disabled, find out more about the long-term sickness and disability benefits available.
- National Federation of Shopmobility UK, NFSUK: A scheme which lends wheelchairs and scooters to people with limited mobility to use whilst visiting shopping centres and leisure facilities.
- RiDC: Independent research charity, which produces a number of useful reports for disabled people, such as ‘Getting a wheelchair into a car’.
