The Minister of State for Disabled People, Health and Work, and MP for Corby, Tom Pursglove, has presented the keys for a Motability Scheme car to Andrew, one of his local constituents.
The car handover took place at Spirit Hyundai Corby on Friday 14 July.
“It makes such a difference to me.”
Andrew received his third Motability car.
Andrew said: “I have so many hospital appointments – particularly at the moment, and without the car I’d be in dire straits.
“I can’t walk very far and wouldn’t be able to get out and about using public transport. It makes such a difference to me.”
“I commend Motability’s commitment to greater accessibility and innovation”
Tom Pursglove MP said: “I’m very pleased to meet Andrew and to hear how the Motability Scheme has helped him. Around 1,277 disabled people in my constituency are Scheme customers.
“I commend Motability’s commitment to greater accessibility and innovation, and look forward to more future collaboration.”
“Finding new ways to make all transport accessible”
Barry Le Grys, CEO of Motability, commented: “Hosting this handover in Corby with our customer Andrew is an opportunity to show how the Scheme helps disabled people to make the journeys they choose.
“We would like to thank Andrew for coming today, and Minister Pursglove for supporting the Motability Scheme.
“Our work with disability experts, partners and policy makers, continues to develop and innovate, finding new ways to make all transport accessible.”
