Joined as a Governor on 7 December 1993 and retired as a Governor on 1 March 2014. He later became our Life Vice President on 2 December 2019.
Under Motability Foundation’s Royal Charter, Governors are appointed from the Membership. Governors may offer themselves for re-election to a maximum of three terms of three years each. Governors meet at least five times per year. These meetings include four quarterly Board meetings and the AGM. Find out more about our Governors here.

Tony Davis BiographyAny individual can apply to the Board for election as a Member (subject to not being a paid employee of Motability Foundation). When a vacancy arises for a Governor, or if the Board considers the need to appoint someone with specialist knowledge, the Board will review the current Membership for candidates. If no current Member possesses the necessary skill or experience, the Board would seek to recruit a new Member, whose appointment as a Governor would be put to the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Governors may offer themselves for re-election to a maximum of three terms of three years each. Members may be appointed by the Board without the intention of becoming Governors. Existing Governors are also Members.
